Welcome To Faculty Of Basic Medical Sciences

The Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences was created along with other Faculties in the College, namely: Faculties of Clinical Sciences and Basic Clinical Sciences and Allied Health in 2018. The Faculty Comprises of Three (3) Departments, namely; Human Anatomy, Human Physiology and Nutrition and Dietetics. The mandate of the Faculty was to train Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Nutrition & Dietetics and Pre-Medical, Clinical and Dental students, from 100 Level to 300 Level. From the first set of 21 Doctors who graduated in 1983, the College has so far graduated a total of 2,932 medical doctors, 216 dental surgeons, 606 Human Anatomists, 644 Laboratory Scientists, 695 Radiographers, 572 Nurses and 242 Physiotherapists as of January, 2022.

Rebecca Mtaku Gali PhD
I am a Medical Laboratory Scientist and a Professor in Chemical Pathology. I am a lecturer and a researcher in Implementation Science University of Maiduguri. Producing accurate results that help in timely intervention and improve patient care, is my goal when I work on bench as a Laboratory Scientist. Discoveries during research, screenings and relating to those concern to find help or solution is the great fulfilment in life for me.
